The corrosion-resistant scale
Stainless steel, robust, precise — a new standard in hygiene
The PRM-S industrial stainless-steel platform scale delivers excellent performance even in the most demanding industrial environments. Manufactured entirely from stainless steel, it resists corrosion, temperature fluctuations and most chemicals. Four high-performance load cells ensure accurate and reliable results, even under heavy loads.
Platform Scale
Our PRM industrial stainless-steel platform scale is manufactured entirely from acid-resistant materials, including the load cells, chassis, fasteners and indicator. This makes it an ideal choice for use in wet, acidic environments, as it withstands corrosion and meets the most stringent hygiene standards.
The robust frame incorporates four high-performance load cells that deliver stable and precise results even under heavy loads. The four-cell design ensures uniform load distribution, which not only increases accuracy but also guarantees long-term durability. The top plate is made from 4 mm sheet as standard and can be ordered with a 4 mm chequer plate on request.
Thanks to its low profile the scale is highly versatile: available as surface-mounted, pit-mounted or fitted with access ramps, it adapts easily to various logistics and warehousing needs. It is also ideally suited to the quick and convenient weighing of goods moved by forklift, pallet jack or trolley.
The scale contains no moving parts, which significantly reduces the risk of breakdown and minimises maintenance requirements. This construction makes the PRM platform scale exceptionally durable, even under intensive use.
Its design makes it a perfect choice for the food industry, meat processing, dairy, cold stores and the chemical industry — wherever corrosion resistance, hygiene and durability are essential.
Load cells:
German HBM (also known as Hottinger) HLC load cells are an excellent choice for platform scales and are preferred by market-leading scale manufacturers. The six-wire design ensures accurate results up to accuracy class C6, in accordance with the OIML R60 type-approval.
Thanks to their standard dimensions, the exceptionally robust HLC load cells can be quickly and easily integrated into any capacity variant, from 110 kg up to 10 tonnes.
The cells are available with IP69K protection and in explosion-proof versions (IECEx-ATEX). A key feature is their stainless-steel construction, which resists corrosion and the harmful effects of acidic environments, ensuring long-term reliability even under extreme conditions.

Surface finish and materials:
The fully stainless-steel design and the brushed stainless-steel plate ensure that the scale is easy to clean and long-lasting, while maintaining excellent resistance to various acids.
Scales of this type are particularly valuable in industries where hygiene and durability are paramount, such as the food industry and the chemical industry.

Delivery, installation and commissioning:
Delivery and installation of platform scales is a straightforward, user-friendly process that in most cases does not require a specialist scale engineer. All finished scales undergo a rigorous inspection at our facility, where they are calibrated with reference weights, fine-tuned and certified.
Notification of completion
Once the ordered scale has been manufactured and tested, we will notify you by telephone that the product is ready for collection or dispatch. The customer may choose from the following options:
- Self-collection: The customer may collect the scale from our premises using their own vehicle.
- Freight delivery on pallet: On request we arrange delivery via a forwarding or haulage company, with the scale packed on a pallet (pallet cost charged separately).
- Delivery and commissioning: On individual request we deliver the scale with our own service vehicle, and our service engineer carries out on-site installation and commissioning.
Customer installation
The scale delivered to the site must be placed at the weighing location as follows:
- Stable base: The scale must be placed on a load-bearing, level and stable surface.
- Levelling:
- Use a spirit level or the scale’s built-in bubble level to set the horizontal position.
- Adjust the levelling feet with a 17 mm or 19 mm spanner so that the scale is stable and does not rock. Every foot must be in contact with the floor.
- Indicator placement:
- Position the indicator in a clearly visible location: on a table, a mounting bracket, or fixed to a wall.
The scale is then ready for operation and can be used immediately after switching on.
Special installation cases
If the scale is to be installed in a pit (flush with floor level), the following steps apply:
- Pit frame and pit drawing:
We supply the pit frame and detailed pit drawing in advance so that the concrete pit can be prepared and the frame cast in. - On-site commissioning:
Once the concrete has set, our service engineer carries out commissioning on site. This includes routing the instrument cable through a conduit beneath the concrete slab and making all connections between the indicator and the scale.
Further support
If you have any questions or special requirements regarding installation, our service team is at your disposal to provide assistance and ensure smooth operation of the scale.
