M Weighbridge – Precise Measurement, Reliable Results
A Versatile Solution in a Single Product
The M type steel side-guided weighbridge is a robust, high-capacity measuring instrument designed primarily for weighing heavy goods vehicles. Its steel construction makes it exceptionally durable and ensures a long service life. Thanks to the application of modern measuring technology, it delivers accurate and reliable measurement results. Available in various sizes and load capacities, it can be tailored to each customer’s individual requirements. It is widely used in the construction, mining, manufacturing, logistics and waste management industries.

Weighbridge Construction and Overview:
The M type weighbridge structure consists of 2–4 interconnected main beams made from hot-rolled IPE 500 steel, together with the bridge elements that sit on and interconnect them. IPE 500 main beams running the full length of both sides of the scale safely guide and protect the vehicle from accidental run-off. This design eliminates the need for a separate crash barrier. The bridge elements fitted between the main beams are fabricated from I 160 section beams, 20 mm thick heavy-plate end caps and 8 mm chequer-plate steel deck surface, with appropriate stiffening ribs underneath. The resulting bridge structure contains 4 load cells up to 9 m in length, 6 load cells for 12–22 m, and 8 load cells for the 24 m version.

After shot-blasting the bare-metal structure, a corrosion-resistant primer is applied followed by a two-component epoxy finish coat that is highly resistant to continuous wear and environmental conditions.
The weight force is transmitted to the load cells via self-aligning mountings, allowing them to move freely in all directions. The movement of the truck scale is limited by flexible longitudinal and lateral buffers, and the self-aligning design of the load cells ensures the bridge returns to its home position. Bumpers fitted to the bridge structure provide a cushioned impact between the scale and the access ramp or pit edge guards, thereby avoiding the damaging effects of bare metal-to-metal contact.
The load-cell cables are brought together in a junction box mounted on the bridge deck; from there the signals travel via a single measurement cable to the indicator, which digitally displays the mass of the vehicle on the bridge. The indicator has an RS-232 computer output and an Ethernet port for TCP/IP connectivity. A secondary display and a computer running weighbridge software can be connected to the communication ports.
Installation is straightforward and quick (2–3 days).
The M type weighbridge is mobile – thanks to its design it can be quickly relocated to a different installation site.
We provide a 5-year warranty on the weighbridge structure under normal operating conditions
Our products comply with the Class III accuracy requirements laid down in the MSZ EN 45501 standard and with the regulations of the Hungarian Trade Licensing Office (MKEH).
Our weighbridges hold type-approval certificates recognised in every country of the European Union.
Load Cells:
We offer our customers load cells from two manufacturers for our weighbridges. Both analogue and digital load cells are available on request.
The CPR-M load cell comes with a 72-month warranty, while the ZSFY-A load cell has a 24-month warranty.
For both cell types we provide dual-range capability (e.g. 30/60 t, 10/20 kg) free of charge for our weighbridges.
Every load cell installed in our weighbridges is fitted with protective shunting and earthing to minimise damage caused by lightning strikes. The junction boxes we use also contribute to lightning protection, as they incorporate gas discharge tubes that effectively shield the load cells from surge voltages originating from the indicator side during a lightning strike.
Weighbridge Indicators and Secondary Displays
Since 1998 we have been using the high-specification, state-of-the-art weighbridge indicators manufactured by the Italian company BILANCIAI, and have been extremely satisfied with them. Every indicator comes with communication ports as standard and can be expanded with a wide range of add-on cards. The line-up also includes a touch-screen smart weighbridge indicator. This indicator runs a full weighbridge management software package, and with a connected thermal printer a weighbridge ticket can be produced instantly.
Three types of outdoor secondary display can be connected to the indicators (100 mm LED, 75 mm LED and a loader-mountable unit):
Weighbridge Software
The weighbridge software is designed to record traffic on road weighbridges. A wide range of data can be stored for each weighing operation (registration number, measurement type, 1st and 2nd weighing results, tare container weight, waste content, moisture content, broken-grain content, process loss, cleaning fee, drying fee, product, customer, haulier, tare container, origin, destination, notes), from which weighbridge tickets can be generated and printed. Measurement data can be retrieved later and displayed on screen or on a printer. The data files containing the various records (products, customers, hauliers, weight data linked to registration numbers, origin data, destination data, tare containers and notes) can be maintained and modified; new records can be added, and the data can be listed on screen or on a printer.
Concrete Substructure Construction
The M type weighbridge can only be installed above ground, in a ramp-mounted configuration.
Metripond-M93 Kft. also undertakes turnkey weighbridge construction, including the necessary concrete substructures, access roads, cable routes and drainage.
If the customer wishes to carry out the concrete substructure work with their own team or subcontractor, Metripond-M93 Kft. supplies the standard foundation drawings and professional guidance.
Nationwide Service Network – Maintenance and Certification:
In today’s fast-paced world every minute counts, so extended downtime caused by a technical fault can result in significant financial loss.
